We will start our day with a journal activity as we take roll and collect homework. From there we will move on to Math and then Spelling. After morning recess we will complete Language/Phonics and Penmanship. After lunch recess, we will have a Bible class followed by Science/History, Health and finally, Reading. Afternoons will also include alternating activities such as: art, games, or free time. Finally, I enjoy reading to the students as we wait for the end of the day to arrive.
You can expect homework to be consistent throughout the year. A typical homework night will include a Spelling activity, Math, and a Reading page. There will also be term projects that the students will complete in addition to their regular homework routine. These projects will correspond with the material being learned.
We will be joining the kindergarten - 1st grade for field trips. A few of the field trips we have planned include the Fire Department, The Children's Theater and the Living Planet Aquarium. Check out the monthly calendar for more field trip information.
